ARTwear 2007
The fifth annual fall fundraiser ARTwear raised over $40,000 with all proceeds going towards the AGC’s art education programs for students kindergarten to grade 12. Guest enjoyed a night of vogue, high-end fashions at this high-energy extravaganza
The evening began at 5:30 pm at the Art Gallery of Calgary for VIP ticket holders as they were treated to a private reception and a show by the Alberta College of Art + Design, Artist Educator Dee Fontans: ART: New Vogue.
VIPs were shuttled to Hotel Arts to mix and mingle with the rest of the guests for doors open at 7:00 pm. There all ARTwear 2007 guests indulged in the tastes created by Chef Duncan Ly and his team (AGCcooks 2007 Gilded Utensil Award winners), and sipped wines chosen by raw bar’s sommelier amidst funky beats of local DJs to celebrate a night of contemporary art and fashion. Guests bid on items from Calgary’s hottest boutique retailers and up-and-coming designers in the ARTwear Fashion Trunk Show Auction and Silent Auction.
The fashion show started at 8 pm and featured upscale business and evening couture, accessories, jewellery, plus the latest in make-up and hair trends. The show was co-coordinated by fashion expert Marie-Louise (Lu) Kapp, a personal style consultant with over 20 years in the fashion industry.
