Lots
Artist: Milutin Gubash
Curator: Marianne Elder
Medium: Photography and Video
Gallery: Tall and Media Galleries

Milutin Gubash’s video and photography create reality-based fictions that explore the issue of personal identity through the use of subjects closest to him: his mother, his father and his close friends. His work examines what is “real” in art and life and plays on the presumptions and prestige of showing at a contemporary art gallery.
*Video program for Lots is organized by the Musee d’art contemporain de Montreal.

Cowboy Wild
Artist: David Campion
Curator: Marianne Elder
Medium: Photography
Gallery: Top Gallery North and South

David Campion's photography investigates the myth of the West and the dichotomy between the cowboy of our collective imagination and the real McCoy. Interglacial Free Trade Agency.ca
Artist: Lynn Richardson
Curator: Sarah Songhurst-Thonet
Media: Mixed Media Installation
Space: Main Gallery

Currently based in New England, Richardson completed her MFA in Sculpture at the University of Texas in 2005 and her BFA at the University of Manitoba. She has exhibited in group and solo shows in a variety of galleries across North America. This installation is part of a solo exhibition which she has shown previously in Toronto, Texas, Regina and Winnipeg. Of this exhibition, she has said: "Inter-Glacial Free Trade Agency examines the relationship between governments and corporations through the guise of a trade show. Here I focused specifically on the end products being marketed to the public; fashionable survival gear in the event we are thrust back into an ice age as a result of global warming. All items were branded with the same logo convincing the viewer that in the ‘new world’ there is only one choice."

Sound Drawings
Artist: Diana Burgoyne
Curator: Sarah Songhurst-Thonet
Medium: Interactive Installation
Space: Tall Gallery

Diana Burgoyne refers to herself as an electronic folk artist. Her performances and installations have been exhibited in Montreal, Toronto, New York, France, Holland, and Estonia. She was commissioned by Telus Science World to collaborate on a permanent piece which is exhibited as part of Contraption Corner. She has been the artist in residence at the Surrey Art Gallery’s Tech Lab, participated in SCANZ in New Zealand and has just finished working on a work entitled “Audio Quilt” as artist in residence at the Roundhouse Community Centre. She has noted: "A common theme in my work is the relationship between society, technology, and environment. I investigate these relationships through the use of sound, performance, and installation. Sound stimulates another sense in the viewer and I use it metaphorically as communication. In creating the sound, I use integrated circuits. It is important that my work does not make specific comments or criticisms of society, culture, or technology but rather stimulates the viewer to raise questions. "
