The Art Gallery of Calgary
Exhibition Submissions
The Art Gallery of Calgary’s mission is to present a diverse range of quality contemporary art exhibitions and education programs.
The AGC reviews proposals from artists and curators on an on-going basis. The gallery encourages proposals from artists from diverse cultural and regional communities across Canada for solo and group exhibitions.
Proposals must include the following:
- A current Curriculum vitae, including contact information
- An artist’s statement, no longer than one page, relating to the proposed exhibition
- A clear and concise proposal for the exhibition, including any special requirements
- Documentation of work including:
- Electronic portfolios and Web site links can be e-mailed to the Curator at ssonghurst@artgallerycalgary.org. Please put “Exhibition Proposal” in the subject line.
- CD, DVD or VHS videotapes are preferred to slides and should be clearly marked with the artist’s name, title of the work, duration and date of completion. - Submissions must include a self-addressed envelope with sufficient postage to return your proposal. Submissions that do not include a self-addressed stamped envelope will not be returned.
Please allow six to eight weeks for consideration. Packages that do not include all of the above information will be deemed incomplete and will not be considered. The AGC holds accepted proposals until the completion date of the exhibition.
