ARTwear 2011 is The Art Gallery of Calgary’s annual fall fashion fundraiser. Now in its ninth year, this high-energy evening features a runway show highlighting the season’s must-have fashions for men and women from some of Calgary’s hottest boutiques and emerging designers. The evening also features a Fashion Trunk Show Auction where guests will have an opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind styles from emerging local designers and retailers. The evening’s festivities include a Silent Auction composed of items donated by local businesses. ARTwear 2011 promises to be an exceptional experience celebrating the natural pairing of contemporary art and fashion, and the theme of Parisian glamour.
ARTwear 2011 will be held at Hotel Arts (119 - 12 Avenue SW) on Thursday, November 10, 2011. Doors open at 7:30pm
ARTwear tickets are $75. These tickets include standing room at the fashion show as well as musical talent at the after party.
VIP Reception tickets are $200 each. VIP tickets will gain you access to the VIP reception at The Art Gallery of Calgary (117- 8 Avenue SW) which takes place from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. VIP guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, and Atelier, Wearable Art Fashion Show choreographed by the locally renowned and well-loved designer Dee Fontans and featuring students from the Alberta College of Art + Design. VIPs will also enjoy complimentary transportation to Hotel Arts and preferred seating during the fashion show at Hotel Arts.

On Friday, November 5, 2010 at Hotel Arts, The Art Gallery of Calgary held its eighth annual fundraiser ARTwear: The Art of Fashion. This high-energy fundraising event featured a runway show highlighting the season’s must-have fashions for men and women from some of Calgary’s hottest boutiques and designers.Calgary’s Fashionistas lounged in luxury on sleek white leather couches, sipping champagne amongst crimson roses and taking in the sophisticated fashions on the runway. From the feather-adorned models of Chi Chi Couture to the classic suits of Thomas Jeffrey, eye-popping ensembles from SHE Lingerie to Primitive Boutique’s finale - a tribute to the late designer Alexander McQueen, the show was non-stop style! Fabulous designs from Lauren Bagliore, Mealan, Crabapple Clothing Company, Bloke, check m8 shoes and Zsa Zsa’s Hat Salon kept all eyes glued to the show and minds forming personal shopping lists!
The fun and fashion continued after the show as guests bid on Silent Auction and Fashion Trunk Show packages comprised of items generously donated by local businesses, emerging designers and retailers of Calgary. Party-goers also danced the night away to the funky beats of Calgary’s own Mocking Shadows!
ARTwear 2010 was our most successful to date, raising over $120,000 in cash and gift-in-kind contributions in support of The Art Gallery of Calgary’s renowned public and education programming. On behalf of The Art Gallery of Calgary’s Board of Directors, The Friend’s of The AGC and the staff we would like to thank all who attended, donated and volunteered their time to this great cause!
