Located on Stephen Avenue, a national historic district in the heart of Calgary’s vibrant downtown cultural district, the AGC is housed in two heritage buildings. Extensive and skilful renovations have created an artful blend of contemporary architecture, elegant sandstone and warm brick.
A new state-of-the-art sound system with surround speakers allows music, speeches or audio to be zoned in specific galleries, or carried clearly throughout all levels.

Parking
The Art Gallery of Calgary does not have its own parking facilities, but several public parkades and parking lots are near by.
- The Palliser Parkade is located one block south of the AGC and can be entered from either 9th Avenue or 10th Avenue
- The Telus Convention Centre Parkade is one block east of the AGC and can be entered from 1st Street south East between 7th and 8th Avenue
